On Tuesday 5th September 2017, The National Governance Association held the Outstanding Governance Awards at the Terrace Pavilion, House of Commons.  The awards are held every two years to celebrate the unique and inspiring contribution that the School Governors, Trustees and Clerks make everyday to schools.

Mrs Stone and the whole school are exceptionally proud to announce our Governing Body went to the Houses of Commons as finalists in The (NGA) National Governance Association Prestigious Award 'Outstanding Governance in a Single School' and returned WINNERS!  The Governing Body has worked tirelessly since the school opened in 2007, their passion for education and dedication to the school is outstanding.

Announcing Fairfield Park Lower School as one of the three category winners, judges Duncan Howorth and Siddique Hussain described the Governing Board as 'rigorous, committed and passionate in its desire for this school to be the best it can'.  They also commended their 'impressive' processes and procedures, and their attention to detail that focuses on how the Governing Board has needed to expand with time.  Judges praised the Governing Board's recognition of local needs stating that they have 'developed a vision and ethos working in collaboration with the local community and the local authority' which has driven the expansion of the school since it opened in 2007.
